Job Overview
The League Commissioner will serve as the highest governing authority of OCL, responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational governance, integrity, and sustainable growth of the league. This role ensures smooth functioning across all league operations while maintaining the highest standards of transparency, professionalism, and fair competition.
The Commissioner will act as the public face of OCL, representing the league in official forums, commercial partnerships, regulatory discussions, and stakeholder engagements. The role requires visionary leadership to expand the league’s footprint, strengthen its brand value, and position OCL as a competitive and professionally managed cricket platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance & Policy Development
• Develop, implement, and periodically review league policies, rules, and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with national and international cricket guidelines.
• Establish disciplinary frameworks and uphold ethical standards.
• Oversee dispute resolution mechanisms between teams, players, and stakeholders. - League Operations Oversight
• Supervise overall league scheduling, tournament structure, and competition formats.
• Ensure operational readiness for each season including venues, logistics, and compliance.
• Coordinate with operations, marketing, finance, and technical committees. - Team & Stakeholder Management
• Approve team participation and ensure adherence to league standards.
• Monitor franchise compliance with financial, legal, and player regulations.
• Maintain strong relationships with team owners, sponsors, broadcasters, and partners. - Integrity & Fair Play
• Safeguard competitive integrity and transparency.
• Implement anti-corruption, anti-doping, and code-of-conduct frameworks.
• Ensure unbiased decision-making in disciplinary matters. - Strategic Growth & Expansion
• Develop long-term strategic growth plans for league expansion.
• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
• Enhance brand visibility and commercial sustainability.
• Explore domestic and international collaborations. - Representation & Public Relations
• Represent OCL in official meetings, government discussions, and cricket associations.
• Act as spokesperson for major announcements and league matters.
• Strengthen the league’s credibility in the cricket ecosystem.
Requirements
Educational & Professional Background
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 8–12 years of senior leadership experience in sports, event management, or related industries.
• Prior experience in cricket administration or league operations is highly desirable.
