Job Overview
Overseas Cricket League (OCL) is seeking a qualified and performance-driven Strength & Conditioning Coach to ensure players maintain peak physical fitness throughout the league season. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing cricket-specific fitness programs, reducing injury risks, and enhancing overall player performance.
This role requires a strong understanding of athletic conditioning, workload management, and recovery strategies tailored specifically for T20 cricket demands.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and conduct structured fitness and conditioning sessions for players
• Develop individualized training programs based on player roles (batsman, bowler, all-rounder, wicketkeeper)
• Monitor player conditioning, strength levels, endurance, agility, and flexibility
• Track workload management to prevent overtraining and fatigue
• Assist in injury prevention through proper warm-up, mobility drills, and strength routines
• Coordinate with physiotherapists and medical staff for rehabilitation support
• Provide recovery guidance including stretching, cooldown protocols, hydration, and nutrition basics
• Conduct fitness assessments and performance testing before and during the league
• Maintain player fitness records and submit periodic reports to team management
• Ensure players are match-ready throughout the tournament schedule
Requirements
• Certification in Fitness Training / Strength & Conditioning (NSCA, ISSA, ACSM, or equivalent preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field (preferred)
• Prior experience in sports fitness or team-based athletic conditioning
• Strong knowledge of cricket-specific conditioning and workload demands
• Understanding of injury prevention techniques and recovery protocols
• Ability to work in high-pressure tournament environments
• Strong communication and motivational skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with cricket teams or T20 tournaments
• Knowledge of biomechanics and performance analytics
• Experience with rehabilitation support and return-to-play programs
• CPR / First Aid Certification
